AbstractObservations in recent years show that the linelike feature at approximately 6.7 keV, which is attributed to Kalpha line emission of Fe+24 and sometimes Fe+25, can be detected in various sources, while Kbeta emission at approximately 7.9 keV is scarcely observed. It is evident that the detailed studies of these lines can markedly improve our understanding of the line-emitting regions, which consist of very hot plasmas. However, the main interest in this problem so far, either observational/experimental or theoretical, is focused on Kalpha lines, leaving other lines (including the next important Kbeta lines) unstudied. In this paper, within the frame of relativistic perturbation, we adopt analytical wavefunctions under the intermediate coupling scheme to calculate thoroughly the structure and the corresponding permitted spontaneous transition rates for the low-lying states (n = 1, 2, 3) and the high-energy resonance lines of Fe+24 (data for Fe+25 are also listed). The calculation is relatively direct with accuracy adequate for astronomical uses. Particularly, the detailed data related on n = 3 states of Fe+24 are first given in this paper.
