AbstractThe problem, how to detect orbit manoeuvre of an artificial satellite based on Doppler measurement is studied. In order to detect the orbital manoeuvre on the first day, the algorithm of equi-variance test for post-residuals is presented, and in order to detect the orbit manoeuvre on the 2nd or 3rd day, another algorithm of estimating Deltaalpha k using predicted residuals is also presented. The calculations show that the algorithm can reliably detect a change greater than 3 metres for the orbital semi-major axis, when the standard variance of the Doppler measurement is 0.2 cm/s
